COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A man died at a hospital shortly after getting struck by a vehicle on a southeast Columbus road late Wednesday night.
According to Columbus police, an adult was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, heading south on South Hamilton Road in the Winchester area of the city. As the Silverado approached Blakestone Lane, a man was attempting to cross South Hamilton Rd., walking in a west-to-east direction.

With a green light ahead, the driver continued south, but struck the pedestrian, who was crossing against a ‘Don’t Walk’ sign. Police said that Elijah Tompkins, 26, was knocked to the ground and came to rest on the west shoulder of the road.
Madison Township medics took Tompkins to a hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead at 12:13 a.m. Thursday…
