Beginning Oct. 1, AEP Ohio will become the Ohio Power Company and customers will start receiving a redesigned monthly electric bill approved earlier this year by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO).
The change will bring more visibility to the company’s long-standing legal name for the 1.5 million customers it serves across Ohio, and aims to give customers easier-to-understand information about their electric service and costs, the utility said.
“The redesigned bill makes it easier for customers to understand what they are paying for, what costs Ohio Power controls, and what costs customers can control themselves,” said Marc Reitter, president of Ohio Power Company. “Our role is to safely and reliably deliver electricity and serve the nearly 1,000 communities that depend on us each day. It’s just one way we are working to provide enhanced transparency for Ohioans.”…
