Whitehall cafeteria-style restaurant to shutter after nearly 40 years

WHITEHALL, Ohio (WCMH) — After 38 years in Whitehall, MCL Restaurant & Bakery is closing its doors this month.

“Kingsdale will still service the Columbus area,” MCL said on social media, referring to the Upper Arlington branch that will remain open. “We hate to close Whitehall, but unfortunately the sales were not where they need to be to cover operating cost.”

The closure is one of several across Ohio and Indiana. MCL said the closures include the shop’s original location in Indianapolis that opened 72 years ago. Whitehall’s MCL will serve its last meals on March 29.
