WESTERVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) — Westerville Police are working to prevent large gatherings of teenagers and encourage safe driving.
For the rest of April, the department is increasing patrols along Polaris Parkway as the “teen takeover trend” is causing issues for cities and businesses statewide.

Westerville Police Chief Holly Murchland said the step is about preventing problems before they happen.
“We just want to kind of be a little more proactive this year and try to make our presence known,” Murchland said. “A lot of times, the businesses aren’t a safe place to gather because you do have a lot of traffic and vehicular traffic that does not mix with large groups of teens gathering about.”…
