Police seek tips in death of Columbus woman whose legs were found in the trash

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is putting out a renewed call for answers in the homicide of 21-year-old Candice Taylor, whose legs were found in a Columbus trash facility in 2017.

On March 28, 2017, Columbus police were dispatched to 1300 S. Columbus Airport Road after sanitation workers uncovered two human legs in the trash. Nearly two years later, in February 2019, police identified the legs as belonging to Taylor, according to a Crime Stoppers news release.

Taylor had been living in a southeast Columbus apartment on Chatterton Road with her boyfriend, according to her mother Theodora Taylor. Crime Stoppers reported that Candice was preparing to move to Cincinnati with him.

In 2023, Theodora told NBC4 that she stopped hearing from her daughter in March 2017 and reported her missing the same month. Shortly after, she said a new Facebook page popped up under Candice’s name and began messaging her…
