Patron sprays bear repellant in German Village restaurant over Monte Christo sandwich

A frightening few minutes Thursday afternoon at the normally peacefulGerman Village Coffee Shop. That’s when an unhappy customer sprayed workers and other diners with bear repellent over displeasure with her Monte Christo, one of the shop’s signature sandwiches.

The unidentified woman argued with employees at the popular Thurman Avenue breakfast and lunch spot shortly after 1:00 p.m., then left the restaurant. A few minutes later, she returned and began spraying people just inside the front door with the repellent.
