Westerville man found guilty of impersonating federal agent, making unlawful arrest

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A federal jury convicted a Westerville man of making an unlawful arrest while impersonating a federal law enforcement agent, according to U.S. Attorney Dominick Gerace III’s office for the Southern District of Ohio.

The U.S. attorney’s office said 45-year-old Brendan Conklin was found guilty following a trial that began May 4.

According to court documents and trial testimony, Conklin, who was driving a former police SUV with police lights, unlawfully pulled over a woman in December 2023. He pointed a firearm at the victim, who had just left her Westerville home with her juvenile child in the car…
