Ceremony to be held for Brent Spence Companion Bridge project groundbreaking

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A long-awaited step forward is set for one of the busiest driving corridors linking Ohio and Kentucky, as leaders prepare to officially launch construction on the Brent Spence Corridor Companion Bridge.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear are expected to break ground on the project during a ceremony being held at 1 p.m. on Friday.

Ohio transportation officials said more than a million man-hours have already gone into the project. The new bridge will be a cable-supported structure, which officials expect will save money and be easier to maintain…
