2 arrested for murder in Riverside County shooting, sheriff’s department announces

Two people were arrested on June 12 for the murder of 47-year-old Corona resident Carlos Villa, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced Monday.

The suspects, 47-year-old Hector Saldaña and 43-year-old Rachel Arredondo, both of Corona, allegedly shot Villa to death on the 3000 block of Grant Street in an unincorporated area of Riverside County shortly before 1 a.m. on May 19.

Deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to the shooting and found Villa unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Villa was pronounced dead at the scene.

Saldaña and Arredondo were arrested in Corona with the help of the Riverside County Emergency Services Team, Major Crimes Unit, and Gang Task Force. The suspects were booked into Riverside County Jail on murder charges…
