ORANGE, Calif. — The Orange County Transportation Authority has scheduled a pair of meetings next week — one in person and one online — to address plans to protect 7 miles of the LOSSAN Rail Corridor along the Pacific Coast in southern Orange County.
The meetings will present the final Draft Feasibility Study for the Coastal Rail Resiliency Study, as well as provide a chance to ask questions and provide feedback. The study addresses the Surf Line route through Dana Point and San Clemente to the San Diego County Line — an area that has been the site of several slides in recent years that have disrupted rail service [see “Slide issues again halt Surfliner, Metrolink …,” Trains.com, Jan. 25, 2025].
The in-person meeting is set for Monday, Aug. 10, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at San Clemente City Hall, 910 Calle Negocio in San Clemente. The online meeting will be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11. Registration is available here; the webinar ID is 858 8924 9103.
