A Temecula martial arts instructor was arrested Friday on multiple sexual assault charges after a minor reported being assaulted during a martial arts lesson, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators identified the suspect as Dzung Mai, 62, of Temecula. Authorities said Mai had been teaching martial arts from his residence for the past several years, instructing students between the ages of 5 and 19.
The investigation began on June 24 when deputies received an allegation of sexual assault involving a minor. The victim reported being assaulted during a martial arts lesson. Based on the allegations, the Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit assumed the investigation.
On June 26, investigators with the Special Victims Unit and the Southwest Sheriff’s Station served a search warrant at a home in the 31000 block of Iris Way in Temecula.
