South Coast AQMD has issued a particle pollution advisory ahead of the Fourth of July weekend, warning that smoke from fireworks can lead to serious health impacts, especially for people with heart or lung conditions.
Beginning the evening of July 4, officials say the Air Quality Index could reach “hazardous” at times in parts of southern Los Angeles County, downtown L.A., the San Gabriel Valley and northern Orange County.
