IE cities named low-risk for fires

Sixteen Inland Empire cities have been named a Fire Risk Reduction Community by the state Board of Forestry and Fire Protection.

Banning, Beaumont, Corona, Eastvale, Hemet, Jurupa Valley, Lake Elsinore, Moreno Valley, Murrieta, Norco, Palm Springs, Redlands, Riverside, Temecula, Wildomar, and Yucaipa all received the designation for 2026, according to a statement on the board’s website.

Statewide, 42 cities were named communities with a lower fire risk, along with 12 counties, including Riverside County. San Bernardino County did not make the list…
