A humid week ahead in the Coachella Valley means the desert is a candidate for thunderstorms, and those overnight temperatures will stay high and offer little reprieve from the heat.
Monsoon thunderstorms will rumble over the nearby mountains, but the jury’s still out on whether those storms will make the trip to the valley. Sam Zuber, a National Weather Service meteorologist, said the highest chances for it are on Monday, June 13 afternoon and early evening.
“We aren’t expecting any kind of widespread thunderstorms for the Coachella Valley, but anything that manages to make it off the mountain could be accompanied by some brief, heavy rainfall, some gusty winds, especially if they were higher based storms,” she said…
