A 65-year-old Palm Desert woman is in custody facing a murder charge following a fatal assault Friday morning, authorities said.
Deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office responded to an “unknown trouble” call at 9:47 a.m. in the 35000 block of Gateway Drive. The incident occurred on a road inside a commercial shopping center, situated near a small gated neighborhood south of the Interstate 10 Monterey Avenue interchange.
“Upon arrival, deputies located a subject suffering from traumatic injuries consistent with a physical assault,” the sheriff’s office stated in a news release on Saturday. “The subject was pronounced deceased at the scene.”…
