A Riverside County shelter kitten that went viral for a rare medical condition is now fully recovered and ready for adoption, according to her caretakers.
“Zoe, the internationally known Puff Kitty, is ready for her next chapter,” the Palm Springs Animal Shelter posted Wednesday, along with a video showing the once-inflated cat looking slim and healthy.
Zoe arrived at the shelter in March with a condition that caused air to become trapped under her skin, making her body swell dramatically, almost like a balloon. Images and videos of Zoe at her puffiest quickly spread online and can still be seen on the Palm Springs Animal Shelter’s Instagram page.
Dr. Phil Caldwell, the shelter’s medical director, treated Zoe. She has since returned to her normal size and is now cleared for adoption…
