Church-to-housing trend grows in Southern California

Several Southern California churches are eagerly jumping on the opportunity to develop some of their properties into housing, reports Amancai Biraben in Orange County Register.

In Santa Ana, a formerly abandoned lot owned by Santa Ana United Methodist Church is being developed into a 93-unit housing complex for at-risk and low-income families. In Santa Monica, affordable housing developer Community Corporation just broke ground on a 95-unit complex slated to open in 2028. In Los Angeles, Logos Faith Development, a developer that builds housing exclusively with churches, is working on a 56-unit complex for formerly incarcerated people…
