Dozens of Coachella Valley restaurants were inspected by Riverside County health inspectors this past week, and all but four passed with flying colors, according to reports.
Three spots in Indio — including a taco spot, Hawaiian BBQ and Chinese restaurant — had various minor and major violations, and a Mexican restaurant tucked away in the quietest part of downtown Palm Springs also received a B grade.
Here are all the restaurants that were inspected in the Coachella Valley May 1-7:
‘B’ grades
Leos Tacos Corp., 82-451 Highway 111, Suite A101, Indio
- Inspector observed the hand wash sink was blocked with a plastic bin with soiled towels; soiled warewash water measured 86F (hot water for submerging dishes must measure a minimum 100F), soiled mop water inside bucket not properly disposed, air curtain off (they must operate in conjunction with the microswitch), salsa thawing in an unapproved manner, several foods uncovered in the walk-in freezer and refrigerator, a sanitizer bucket stored on the prep table next to a cutting board, food stored in trash bags, piece of plywood installed on the flat grill, grease accumulation and stains in several areas, gaps in the hood system, soiled wiping cloths not properly disposed, several holes in the wall that need to be sealed, food debris, two food handler cards not Riverside County approved
- “B” grade posted. Future downgrades may result in office hearings, citations, re-inspection fees, suspension hearings and/or other disciplinary action(s). Operator has a minimum of one week to comply (reinspection scheduled for May 12).
