Fourth of July heat typical for Texas, but hot weather has the rest of the U.S. on alert

Texas will be hot on the Fourth of July, but not necessarily the hottest part of the country. In fact, much of the Lone Star State will run cooler than several major East Coast cities preparing for the nation’s 250th birthday celebrations, including Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

Across Texas, afternoon highs will range from around 99 degrees in Dallas and Austin to the mid-90s in Houston, with Corpus Christi expected to stay cooler near 90 degrees.

Little to no rain is expected, so fireworks displays across the state should go on without any weather-related issues.

Meanwhile, some of the nation’s largest Independence Day events — including Harborfest in Boston, the Sail 4th celebration in New York City, and the Wawa Welcome America festival in Philadelphia — will be dealing with intense heat during the holiday celebrations…
