KINGSVILLE — Rockport-Fulton senior Gus Johnson has punched his ticket to the University Interscholastic League State Track and Field Meet.
Johnson finished second in the boys pole vault on Friday at the Region IV-4A meet on Friday at Javelina Stadium in Kingsville to earn a spot in Austin later in May. Johnson cleared 15-feet, which was three inches behind winner Dane Mignerey from Wimberley. Mignerey cleared 15-3 to win gold.
