The varsity girls’ portion of the Gwinnett County Cross Country championships in Conyers ended prematurely after a mistake with the course management on Saturday.
North Gwinnett and Mill Creek were declared co-champions after runners were misdirected late in the course.
“Right before the last hill, there’s about 1,200 (meters) left, the course marshals had the route that they were supposed to go up roped off, so nobody took the right turn until 20 or 30 girls had passed,” North head coach Chris Carter said…
