HALL COUNTY, Ga. — An 85-year-old Tennessee woman died Monday after the SUV her husband was driving struck a flatbed truck backing into Browns Bridge Road, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
Barbara Ann Payne of Maryville was a front-seat passenger in a Kia Sportage involved in the collision just after 9:30 a.m. Oct. 12 near Whiporwill Road. She was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, where she died from her injuries.
Investigators said 24-year-old Jared Bryant Miranda Rosas of Dawsonville was backing an International 4000 flatbed truck into the westbound lane from a makeshift parking spot on the road’s north shoulder…
