19-year-old hiker drowns in north Georgia river, officials say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A 19-year-old hiker drowned after falling into a river in north Georgia, according to officials. A spokesperson with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources said game wardens were notified around 12:40 p.m. Friday that a hiker had fallen into the river above Oceana Falls in Tallulah Gorge and did not resurface.
