Today, Friday, May 1 marks the start of the traditional series of concerts along the Downtown Square in Gainesville.
City of Gainesville officials say that the first of Explore Gainesville’s, “First Fridays” events kicks off five planned events by area and regional musicians and groups–free of charge for residents! A specific timeline of scheduled events leading up to the concerts may actually effect much of the city’s commuters, patrons and business operations, as the actual roads around the Downtown Square in Gainesville. That list of the timed logistics is as follows for each first Friday in months between May and September:

- 1pm: Parking Closes around the Square.
- 3pm: Streets close to thru traffic around the square. Vendor set-up begins.
- 4pm-6pm: Pre-Show fun begins in the middle of the square!
