NORTH GEORGIA — Heavy rain is already moving through parts of north Georgia this Saturday morning May 23, with North Georgia Weather Authority radar at 10:48 AM showing intense red and orange returns stretching from Ellijay through Cartersville and Alpharetta, as forecasters warn that a few stronger storms capable of damaging winds and large hail are possible through the afternoon with the SPC placing much of north Georgia under a Marginal Level 1 out of 5 severe weather risk.

The primary severe weather window runs from noon through 10 PM Saturday with damaging wind and large hail as the outlined hazards.
