DALLAS — A Dallas police officer and a suspect in custody are both in a hospital after the suspect reportedly tried to take control of the police car before jumping out onto the freeway.
According to the Dallas Police Department, officers were called to the incident at about 6:10 p.m. Saturday on RL Thornton Freeway near Beckley Avenue.
Police say officers had arrested the suspect in the 2300 block of South Marsalis Avenue. While driving to the jail, the suspect reportedly gained control of the squad car with the officer still inside.
