Public records give timeline of what led up to Oak Cliff gas explosion

DALLAS — Public documents obtained by WFAA give a timeline of what led up to the explosion at a Dallas apartment complex on Thursday — and accuse one company of cutting into the gas line.

Records from Texas811, a Richardson-based nonprofit working to prevent utility damage, show Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) Limited had filed a ticket for markings at the apartment complex The Clyde in Oak Cliff at 9:50 a.m. on May 21. In response to the company’s request, various utility companies that service the area confirmed they didn’t have lines at that location by May 26.

However, on May 28, the day of the incident, another report shows the nicked gas line occurred at about 1 p.m., and according to the document, the damage was caused by a drill rig from Barba Drilling…
