DALLAS (KDAF) — Wendy’s is introducing a limited-time “Minions & Monsters Meal” nationwide, inspired by Illumination’s new film. The adult meal, featuring an all-new Banana Frosty Swirl and exclusive blind-box collectibles, launches June 15. A special drive-thru experience will offer an early preview on June 11 in Norwalk, Calif., ahead of the film’s July 1 theatrical release.
The campaign celebrates Illumination’s “Minions & Monsters,” described as a new chapter from the biggest global animated franchise in history. The promotion includes a variety of new menu items and exclusive merchandise for both adults and children, with the Kids’ Meal already available.
The new Banana Frosty Swirl, available starting June 15, features a sweet banana cream sauce swirled into Wendy’s iconic Vanilla Frosty base. This new item is part of the broader “Minions & Monsters” themed offerings. The Wendy’s Minions & Monsters Adult Meal includes a choice of a Big Bacon Classic or the new Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Small Hot & Crispy Fries, a Small Banana Frosty Swirl and one of four exclusive Wendy’s Minions & Monsters blind-box collectibles. Two new Coca-Cola Freestyle beverages are also part of the lineup. These character-inspired drinks are Pineapple Minion MischieFizz and Goomi’s Glimey Lime.
The Wendy’s Minions & Monsters Kids’ Meal is available now and features a choice of two-piece chicken tenders, 4-piece chicken nuggets, a hamburger or cheeseburger. It also comes with Jr. Hot & Crispy Fries or apple bites, a kid’s drink and one of six exclusive Wendy’s Minions & Monsters Kids’ Meal toys. The toy collection includes James, Henry, Ed, Richard, Goomi and Dort.
Illumination’s “Minions & Monsters” film arrives in theaters July 1. The movie tells the story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, unleashed monsters onto the world and then banded together to save the planet from the mayhem they created.
