Human Remains Identified, Charges Filed

June 17, 2026 – A Dallas family will now have some closure, but few answers to a missing person case from early February of this year. The human remains found on a quiet Sulphur Springs street in May have now been identified as Dennis Damont Weems Jr. who had previously been reported missing from the Dallas area. The 26-year old African American was last seen in the Dallas area between February 1st and 2nd. At that time a plea was made from the family to locate Dennis, AKA “Cadillac” and a missing persons report was filed with the Dallas Police Department.

A forensics team at the Southwestern Institute of Forensics Science worked diligently since the May 2nd discovery of the human remains in Sulphur Springs culminating in the postive identification of the remains as Weems.

An arrest has been made in the case but so far only for “Tampering with Evidence – Human Corpse” charges filed against Devarrius Damontre Richardson which could mean the transporting of a body. Richardson was located in Anchorage, Alaska arrested and transported back to the Hopkins County Jail. Bond has been set at $500,000 for the 25 year old Richardson…
