NORTH TEXAS — There is an increasing chance for some scattered showers to develop late tonight across North Texas as a disturbance slides through the region. Rain is not expected to be widespread, with coverage estimated at around 20 percent, but the activity is expected to become more likely after 12 a.m.
Showers Expected to Develop Mainly After Midnight
The disturbance responsible for tonight’s shower chances is expected to bring the best opportunity for rain after midnight, with activity already visible on radar across portions of North Texas. Communities including Denton, Gainesville, and Denison are seeing scattered showers develop as the disturbance moves through.
Radar shows isolated cells producing heavier rainfall in spots, with some of the stronger returns tracking near Bridgeport and Denton. The scattered nature of this activity means not every community will see rain, even within the highlighted coverage area.
Dallas Fort Worth Metro Also Within the Shower Chances
The Dallas-Fort Worth metro area falls within the zone expecting scattered showers overnight, with activity already developing across portions of Tarrant and Dallas counties. Communities including Stephenville and Hillsboro to the south are also within reach of any showers that develop.
Athens and Palestine mark the eastern edge of tonight’s shower chances, with coverage expected to taper off closer to those communities compared to areas farther west and north within the highlighted zone.
