City Council vote clears path for new Central Market grocery store in one of Dallas’ buzziest neighborhoods

DALLAS — A Dallas City Council vote cleared the way for a new Central Market grocery store in Uptown.

On Tuesday, the Dallas City Council approved a rezoning request to expand an existing building and add parking structures to a piece of land located at the intersection of Lemmon and McKinney Avenue in the heart of Uptown Dallas.

The new grocery store will take over a vacant Albertsons, which is part of a broader, mixed-use development in the area, WFAA previously reported. Central Market took assignment of the property lease in 2016, and developers previously broke ground on the mixed-use development in 2022, before putting store construction on hold in 2023, WFAA reported…
