‘No one is above the law’: Former Dallas Police sergeant gets federal prison time for selling stolen department guns

DALLAS — A former Dallas Police Department sergeant has been sentenced to 28 months in federal prison for stealing and selling department-issued service weapons.

Thomas Fry, 53, of Royse City, was sentenced April 22 by U.S. District Judge Brantley Starr for the possession and sale of a stolen firearm.

According to federal court records, Fry admitted to taking three firearms owned by the Dallas Police Department in three separate instances. He then sold the weapons to an Oklahoma pawn shop in June and July of 2022…
