Last Monday in Uptown Dallas, a parking lot fight turned fatal when gunfire broke out, leaving one man dead. Officers arrived at a business parking lot in the 2700 block of McKinney Avenue at about 2:50 a.m. and found the victim wounded. First responders performed CPR and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he died shortly after arriving. Detectives say the incident started as a disturbance between a group of people before someone pulled a gun, opened fire, and fled in a vehicle. Homicide detectives and crime scene technicians worked the lot into the morning, marking evidence under floodlights while much of the neighborhood slept.
Police Recover Shell Casings, Canvas Nearby Businesses
Dallas police recovered ballistic casings at the scene and are now interviewing witnesses while canvassing nearby businesses for surveillance video that might have captured the shooting or the suspect’s getaway.
