Dayton authorities investigate multiple shootings believed to be connected to social media organized gatherings

Dayton, Ohio – The Dayton Police Department is asking residents to help prevent violence connected to large unauthorized gatherings known as “pop-up parties” after several recent shootings and disturbances appeared to be linked to such events.

According to police, detectives with the department’s Violent Offender Unit are actively investigating multiple shootings that occurred in different parts of the city, including incidents on Old Orchard Avenue, Grafton Avenue, and Viola Drive.
