BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – Butler County Prosecutor Mike Gmoser announced Tuesday that two recent officer-involved shootings in Butler County were legally justified, and grand juries declined to indict any officers involved.
One case involved Donald Madden, who authorities said pointed a firearm at officers on April 16 while they attempted to serve an arrest warrant.
According to Gmoser, officers returned the next day to arrest Madden on the outstanding warrant and an additional firearms charge. During that encounter, Madden allegedly fired at officers, who returned fire and struck him.
Madden survived the shooting and is awaiting trial.
