A 66-year-old Columbus man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after he allegedly drove to Dayton to meet someone he believed was a 15-year-old girl, only to find an undercover detective waiting for him instead. Joey W. Woyan is accused of bringing a camera, wet wipes and a towel with him to the meeting, according to court records.
Woyan is facing 12 counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, one count of importuning and two counts of possession of criminal tools, as reported by the Dayton Daily News. His case is being handled in Vandalia Municipal Court, whose jurisdiction covers 83.5 square miles of northern Montgomery County — including Vandalia, Englewood, Clayton and Union, along with Butler and Harrison townships — according to the Vandalia Municipal Court.
According to the affidavit in the case, Woyan reportedly began communicating with the undercover detective through a chat website. Per the affidavit, he sent multiple nude images of himself, along with images of nude females and nude males. The affidavit also states that Woyan asked to meet the detective in person after learning how close the detective supposedly lived to him.
Bond Set at $25,000, Home Detention Possible
