Great-grandmother’s frantic 911 call after Ohio boy, 7, fatally shoots himself playing with gun

In a frantic call to 911 , the great-grandmother of a 7-year-old Ohio boy who fatally shot himself while playing with a gun could be heard attempting to answer dispatchers’ questions amid a chaotic scene.

The Springfield Township police reportedly responded to a call in the 9700 block of Arvin Avenue at approximately 2:18 p.m. after the call came in that the boy had been shot. The police are investigating it as an accidental shooting, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported, adding that the publication had obtained a recording of the phone call through an open records request.

“Oh, my baby. Look at my baby,” the unidentified woman could be heard saying, distressed. The dispatcher then asked her if she could perform CPR and told her to do so on the boy, who was later identified as 7-year-old Justice Jenkins.
