2 hurt after Dayton fire engine collides with transport van

Police and medics responded to a crash involving a fire engine in Dayton on Tuesday morning.

Just after 9 a.m., police and medics were dispatched to the area of North Broadway Street and Yale Ave on reports of a crash, according to a Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Sergeant.

Dayton Police Sergeant Creigee S. Coleman told News Center 7 at the scene that the fire engine had just left the scene of a reported fire when witnesses said it proceeded through an intersection and collided with a van.

Video from the scene showed that the van was a Valley Transport van, which is a non-emergency medical/non-medical transport service…
