Murder charges filed in 7-year-old Hershall Creachbaum case

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — Montgomery County Prosecutor, Mat Heck, has announced murder charges in the death investigation of 7-year-old Hershall Creachbaum.

Heck explained the new and more severe charges that Creachbaum’s mother and boyfriend are now facing.

According to court documents, Michael Kendrick, 39, was originally indicted on the following charges:

  • Three counts of Gross Abuse of Corpse
  • Two counts of Tampering with Evidence

On April 23, Kendrick now has the following additional charges:

  • One count of Murder
  • One count of Involuntary Manslaughter
  • Two counts of Endangering Children

Ashley Johnson, 36, was originally indicted on the following charge:

  • One count of Obstructing Justice

On April 23, Johnson now has the following additional charges:

  • One count of Gross Abuse of Corpse
  • One count of Tampering with Evidence
