Jackson Township pair arrested in Preble County for theft case

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — A man and a woman from Jackson Township were arrested after an alleged case of theft and breaking and entering.

According to the Preble County Sheriff’s Office, deputies investigated two people for reports of theft in the 5900 and 8600 block of Crawfordsville Campbellstown Road in late March.

On April 16, deputies arrested Cody Thacker, 32, for the following charges:

  • One count of Breaking & Entering
  • One count of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle
  • One count of Theft
  • One count of Criminal Trespass

Deputies also arrested Sara Hankins, 45, for the following charges:

  • One count of Breaking and Entering
  • One count of Theft
  • One count of Criminal Trespass

Thacker had admitted to taking a car from someone’s property, using it to take engines to a scrap yard to sell them, and then bringing back the car…
