MARTA chief says safety remains top priority after recent violent crimes

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Safety on MARTA has come under renewed scrutiny following a recent string of violent incidents, including a shooting Friday night at the Midtown Station and a fatal stabbing last weekend at the Oakland City Station.

Atlanta police said a man was shot in the arm and leg Friday at the Midtown Station. Investigators believe the shooting was targeted.
