A shuttle bus manager who was seriously injured while protecting a co-worker from an alleged homeless attacker at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has filed a negligence lawsuit against the City of Atlanta, claiming airport officials failed to address a long-standing safety problem involving unauthorized individuals on airport property.
The lawsuit stems from a violent attack that occurred on September 11, 2024, when Kwan Lawrence, who had been working as a shuttle bus manager at the airport for only about one month, was assaulted while responding to a disturbance involving a shuttle passenger.
Lawsuit Alleges Airport Ignored Ongoing Safety Concerns
According to the complaint filed in the Superior Court of Fulton County, Lawrence argues that the City of Atlanta, which owns and operates Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, knew for years that homeless individuals were regularly entering and remaining at the airport without legitimate business.
