$2 million project to close sidewalk gaps in Atlanta neighborhood

There is a new push to make one southwest Atlanta corridor safer by closing sidewalk gaps and making it easier for neighbors to walk in their community.

At the intersection of Beecher Road and Edgewater Drive, city leaders joined excited homeowners and marked the start of a long-awaited infrastructure improvement.

“Sidewalks are easy to overlook until you don’t have them,” said Beecher Hills resident Sarah Pierre. “Right now, something as simple as going for a morning run means running alongside traffic.”…
