Southwest Georgia residents face dangerous heat today, with temperatures and humidity combining to make it feel as hot as 109 degrees.
What’s happening: A heat advisory is in effect from noon to 6 p.m. today for Seminole, Decatur, Calhoun, and Gadsden counties. The combination of heat and humidity can cause heat-related illness.
Stay safe: Health officials recommend drinking plenty of water, staying in air conditioning, and avoiding the sun during the hottest part of the day.
