Police: DUI suspect slipped through patrol car cage to escape

Johna Hope Davis, 23, of Decatur, is accused of escaping from a patrol car after being told she was under arrest on Sept. 8 at 11:04 p.m. at Wellstar Cobb Medical Center, according to an arrest warrant from the Austell Police Department.

Davis escaped by slipping through the cage window into the front of the patrol car and then opening the door. She arrested for operating a black Toyota Camry that was following too close to the vehicle in front and caused a collision. The odor of alcohol was emitting from her breath and the vehicle she was driving, according to the warrant.

Davis is charged with obstruction/hindering law enforcement; driving – following too closely; DUI – alcohol; and escape – misdemeanor. She was arrested on Sept. 8 at 11:51 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
