DECATUR, Ga. — A DeKalb County jury has convicted a 41-year-old man of murder and related charges in the 2020 shooting death of a man who had offered him help, officials said.
Ryan Anson Carter was found guilty Friday, April 24th, of malice murder, felony murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in the death of 29-year-old Jamaal Cobb, according to the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office.
DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Asha F. Jackson sentenced Carter immediately following the verdict to two consecutive life sentences, plus an additional five years to be served consecutively…
