WalletHub’s 2026 ranking of America’s best foodie cities offers a few fabulous places to consider. The study compared 182 cities across 28 measures, including restaurant variety and the availability of affordable places with strong customer ratings. It also considered grocery costs and farmers’ markets, so the results reflect life for people who cook there, too.
Food diversity, accessibility, and quality carried more weight than affordability, which helped some expensive cities finish near the top. Below are the 12 highest-ranked cities, counting down to No. 1, with a closer look at what each has to offer hungry travelers.
