Bear sighted multiple times in a Littleton neighborhood

LITTLETON, Colo. ( KDVR ) — Bears are out and about this time of year , and David Navarre experienced that firsthand Sunday morning.

Navarre has lived in Littleton for about eight years and has come across raccoons, deer, coyotes and even bobcats, but so far no bears — until recently.

Almost 100 horses rounded up in Colorado to ensure enough federal land for herd

He said he was in his hot tub for an early morning dip when he caught sight of something moving through the bushes at the edge of his yard.

“Just saw a large, black object moving across and it took me a second to actually look at it and realized it was a bear,” Navarre said with a laugh.

He watched as it moved along the perimeter keeping its distance, then it started up the road and he managed to get a video of it. He said he didn’t recall being afraid, just excited at the opportunity to see the animal.

“I didn’t expect to see that,” he said.

Just a few houses down along Dutch Creek, Andrew Giamberadino said he must have passed the same bear like a ship in the night. Around 7 p.m., he was walking his dog when he spotted wet paw prints on the asphalt.
