LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A 90-year-old historic marker has been stolen from along a busy road in Lakewood.
The marker was installed to commemorate the 5,000 workers who took part in the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and helped to extend Alameda Avenue to Red Rocks Amphitheater during the Great Depression. The marker was located on West Alameda Avenue at South Benton Street one block west of Sheridan Boulevard.
