IOWA (KCAU) — Roughly 200 Iowa soldiers will be coming back home this weekend after a year-long deployment.
The Iowa National Guard said that the soldiers are back in the United States after reducing ISIS capabilities in Syria and Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Around 1,500 soldiers were deployed in May 2025 to support that mission.
